In 2019, Pride in NYC marks the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and a half-century of LGBTQIA+ liberation. To celebrate, Squarespace collaborated with Ryan Pfluger to deliver a snapshot of the diverse perspectives on what it means to be LGBTQIA+ today.
A born-and-raised New Yorker who recently transplanted to Los Angeles, Ryan received his MFA in Photo, Video & Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in 2007. Constantly exploring what portraiture means presently in our culture, his photographs deal with the subtlety of body posture, the gaze, and how sexuality influences image making. Captivated by nostalgia, his work often deals with creating memories or memorializing objects and places. Most importantly, he allows his subjects to be present. Ryan uses Squarespace to share his commercial photography as well as personal projects.
Squarespace is the all-in-one platform to build a beautiful online presence. From domains and websites, to online stores and marketing tools, we’re proud to build products that help queer artists, businesses and organizations shine all year round.
